The Best Baby Carrier Review

The Best Baby Carrier, Taking care of your baby is a two-handed job most of the time, but so is grocery shopping, laundry and just getting from point A to point B.

Any time you can free up a hand or two when you’re taking care of your baby can make all the difference.

If your little one is fussy and demands to be held, a soft structured baby carrier helps you stay close without sitting in a rocking chair all day.

Our team of seven experienced baby wearers all agree that this is must-have gear for the first two years.

We tested four of the top selling baby carriers to find out which one tackles the challenge of carrying your baby safely, comfortably and stylishly.

The LILLEbaby Complete

All Seasons was our pick for the best baby carrier.

We are just trying to help you find the best products.

Thanks for supporting honest reviews.

Here’s a list of our picks for the best baby carriers.

Our top pick overall was the LILLEbaby Complete All Seasons and our runner-up pick was the Ergobaby OMNI 360.

Our baby-wearing testers took these carriers everywhere for three months before we made our final pick.

Hiking in the Sierra Nevada’s, navigating through airports, attending festivals and concerts and even shoveling snow.

They compared the carriers against other soft structured carriers they’ve used in the past as well as baby slings and wraps.

They made notes about three major factors in their tests, comfort, how long they could comfortably wear the carrier, convenience, how easily the carriers could be fastened and adjusted and versatility, how well the various modes and adjustments adapted to different needs.

LILLEbaby Complete All Seasons

The LILLEbaby Complete All Seasons really lives up to its name.

It’s designed to handle any situation you can think of and is still competitively priced.

With a do it all design, this carrier offers a large removable lumbar support pad.

Great for long walks, but easily taken off if you find it too bulky.

Other brands don’t let you remove the back pad.

A zip open mesh vent panel gives year round comfort options and a storage pouch keeps track of your odds and ends.

LILLEbaby offers instructions on ways to use the carrier with newborns as small as seven pounds and provides the best padding and back support to accommodate bigger kids.

While this carrier can do more than the rest, it takes more time to adjust the seat width from one position to another than with our runner-up.

If you frequently switch between world facing and inward facing modes, it’s inconvenient.

A note from our editors.

LILLEbaby just launched a new slightly more expensive

carrier called the Serenity that makes this step easier with Velcro tabs.

We haven’t had time to test that model as extensively as we’ve used the Complete though.

Ergobaby OMNI 360.

Our runner-up was the Ergobaby OMNI 360.

Usually about $50 more than the LILLEbaby, this is Ergobaby’s fourth generation design and uses soft cotton fabrics.

Ergobaby has Velcro seat width adjustment tabs that making changing between modes easier than any other carrier we’ve used.

However, there were a few drawbacks of this carrier that landed it in second place.

Tricky fasteners and an annoying storage pouch.

When you’re going to use the quick release buckles

on the side straps, you’ll find an extra locking tab.

It’s intended to keep your kid from unbuckling accidentally, but it’s more adult proof than anything.

The storage pouch while just large enough for a jumbo size phone dangles in front of your crotch.

It’s annoying when you’re on the move and you can’t see what you’re fishing for.

Aside from these drawbacks, the Ergobaby is a great design that just barely missed our top spot.

Shopping for a baby carrier is a pretty overwhelming task.

There are so many options, opinions and things to consider.

After all of our research and tests, we can confidently recommend the LILLEbaby Complete All Seasons as the best baby carrier overall.

It covers your bases for safety, comfort and convenience and it comes at a competitive price.

We asked a baby-wearing expert if she had any tips and tricks and she has a few pointers about getting the best fit in different modes.
